Lloyd Thacker, who has put himself forward as a proxy for parents and students frustrated by the arms-race nature of the college admissions process, has a new partner these days: the College Board.
Even Mr. Thacker says that the alliance, with the organization responsible for the SAT and Advanced Placement exams, left some of his supporters scratching their heads, at least initially. But, in an article appearing this weekend in The Times’s Education Life supplement, Mr. Thacker explains that he hopes the partnership will “do good”: it is expected to produce a Web site that seeks to level the playing field in terms of the guidance provided to students on the admissions process.
